Looking for a way that you can deep clean your carpet? Below are some tips that you can use for deep cleaning without having to rent any expensive equipment.
Start Out by Vacuuming
You should regularly vacuum. Start by vacuuming once per week if possible. Vacuuming will help keep deeply embedded dander, sand, and dirt down. Use the changing seasons to do a detailed, thorough vacuum of your other areas – around your furniture legs, under your furniture, and across the baseboards.
Take Care of Stains
Even though we will do our very best to deal with those stains on our carpets when they occur, there’s always some pesky spots that weren’t tackled immediately, or that will need a few treatments.
The good thing is that there is a stain solution that you can use to help with removing stains. Below are the steps for removing stains.
Make up a solution of one part of vinegar and two parts of water and put it into your spray bottle.
Spray your stain
- Dampen a rag and place it atop of your stain
- Place your iron on its steam setting.
- Iron your rag for around 30 seconds.
Keep up the Freshness of Your Carpet
Between deep cleaning of your carpet, it’s possible to keep it looking and smelling fresh by creating a carpet freshener at home. The ingredients below should be mixed together and then stored inside a shaker:
- a cup baking soda
- 10 to 20 drops essential oil
- Do you have pets? Add ½ cup borax to help with keeping fleas from being a problem
Before you vacuum again, sprinkle this mixture on the carpet and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then vacuum as you usually do. You want to be sure the day is dry, so the baking soda’s not picking up moisture.
These are the things that you can do to have a beautiful, clean carpet.
